Instructions for installing SM 3.9 on Vista Ultimate

im not sure if anyone has talked about this but im having some issues with stepmania on vista. the game installs fine but i heard that all the songs cant be put in the program files folder anymore bc of UAC. right after that when i got to setup everything it looked ok except that when i play a song they seem to lag and my keyboard is sluggish with it. and also the profiles disappear when i finish playing it. is there any special instructions to follow to install stepmania on vista ?

Turn off UAC. You don't need it and it'll save you a lot of trouble.

If you haven't already, get the latest drivers for your graphics card (... or lack thereof).

If you are playing the game windowed, disable desktop composition (right click on StepMania.exe and go to properties then compatibility tab), this will make the game play smoother and lag less.

i play full screen with the videos. i already have the latest drivers from evga for my 8800 gts . what would i need to do to make it lag free and run jus like the the old xp sp2 ? i already disabled UAC but what do i need to do also to run stepmania on vista in full screen ?
