Are ITGPS2 Songs legal on stepmania IF...
- You own the game itself
- You have legally bought it with money
Same for the theme and noteskins. Is it legal or is it still illegal?

No, unless you have personally made the backup of the songs onto your computer. But no conclusive evidence can be found legally, so you're completely safe from legal action.

edit: No, it's very illegal. This is called using copyrighted material that was exumed using reverse-engineering (which is ALSO illegal) and can lead to casual lawsuits.

If you're going to have it for evaluational purposes, you're allowed to possess it for no more than forty-eight hours max. After that, you're in a legal red zone. (Official simfiles fall under the same laws that ROMs fall under)

Since you mentioned this, (i know this doesn't have to do w/ ITG) but from my understanding DDRUK.com has the legal rights to distribute there song packs, with the permission granted by Konami/Bemani.

ITG is basicly run off the stepmania engine, and on the stepmania website they DO have ITG songs for download, that came from Red Octane/RoXoR.

just dont worry about it, no one is going to catch you, nor any of us, because there are just so many usres that use stepamania out there, thet you cant tell who has it.

I might be losing my mind, but reverse-engineering is perfectly legal. Wouldn't the only problems involve licensing and copyrights?

But if you are using it privately or just with some friends with no intension to do anything illegal with it I don't why that would be illegal.
