A little help?

I just started out a few days ago with Stepmania, and was wondering something. When I set the background for the songs, right when the music starts the background disappears and it starts using annoying animations. I was just wondering how to turn the animations off, thanks.

Edit: I guess that's what the options are for

On another note, how do I turn event mode on and off?

From the main title: Options > Background Options > Mode. Then change from Animations, Visualizations or RamdomMovies to Off
and Options > Coin Options > Event Mode, set to Off.

Edit: How do you determine the length for songs on DancingGorilla? I went by seconds for the last song I made and it cut out before it ended. Any help would be appreciated.
