Magic Dance

Pretty fun game to play on stepmania, but I really hate when it changes to so that it only shows just before the arrows, I believe it's called sudden, it's pretty much no chance you're going to hit the arrows unless you play it on 1x speed, and I can't do that.

Is there anyway to alter something in stepmania that will disable that mod from coming up randomly during magic dance? Also if possible could you add other mods?

Try this - Go into this series of folders: Stepmania/Characters/default. In there is a configuration file called "character". Open it with notepad. One of the lines should say "Level2Attack2=sudden". You're able to change this mod into something more manageable; for example, replace "sudden" with "c200," save the file, and try out Magic Dance. Don't like it? Replace that mod with another that's more to your liking. That should fix your problem!

Also, don't use any of the "effect" mods like "drunk" or "dizzy" in Magic Dance. The game gets buggy--really buggy--when they go into effect.
