Exclamation Mungyodance 1/2/3 pack problem in stepmania

I tried downloading the Mungyodance packs for Stepmania today off the official site for it, but when I try to play songs like M.A.G.I.C. Speed Ball which only have edit steps, it crashes the game.

Is there a patch out there to solve this, or am I just screwed?

By the way, I am using Stepmania 4 Alpha with the default theme if that means anything towards the situation.

Edit the .SM file to display the files as Challenge steps, instead of edits.

Tried it, still crashed.
Tried changing the difficulty to below 15, nothing.
Tried deleting and keeping the edit name, nothing.

If you are think I am a moron (which I probably am), could you show me where I should edit that information?

I used the #notes section. If this is wrong, please tell me.

No, that would have fixed it, it is a common glitch and all edit only songs must have the .sm file modified to read "Challenge:" instead of "Edit:"

There is a patch that you can just drop into the song folder and it will fix it for you, and if you put it in the MGD folder, it will fix all songs in that group, if you put it in the songs folder it will fix every song you have. Note, what this does is change every difficulty down one level, so as a result all edits become challenge/expert, all hard/heavy become medium/standard, etc.

Your .SM should look something like this.

Use the patch utility that Dave posted. It will automatically correct everything. However, on the songs with EX charts (they have easy-hard as well as an edit or expert chart), you will have a Novice difficulty after patching.
