As great as MGD is..
Professionally, it has a ton of flaws.
Namely the design, the way it was released, the gameplay, lot's of noticable things that Cykon pointed out..
The music quality was the biggest thing. Yes, it's freeware.. but you know if you're making a product that's free, that's only to make people want it more really. It's not to make the product look better, because well.. the product is what it is. If you had to pay for it, it wouldn't really be worth it now would it? TRUE freeware I think.. is stuff like GIMP, stuff like Daemon Tools, things like that. These are great programs made free of use, that I guarantee could make money if put out for a fee. (Instant messengers don't count.. due to competition really)
Anyways, I think MGD has potential to be a fun game.. but it really focuses on the fact that it's freeware.. which, when you look at it, it isn't all that much. As well, while it's becoming more and more popular to get a DDR mat that connects to your computer, most people still only have pads that connect to a PS2. So, with that said, even though it's a "dancing" game, I guarantee 90% of the people playing it didn't play with the proper controller.
