And to the person who said i needed to make steps, it is hard to make steps to a song when the song wont show up in the editor.
You never said it wouldn't appear in the editor, hence the reason I suggested looking at stepcharts.
Seeing as how this is proving to be somewhat more complicated, mind copying and posting the simfile here so we can take a look at it and possibly rule it out as the source of this problem?
You could always use the Stepmania Tools and Package Exporter and select Create Song from there. Then you can choose any song on your system and it will automatically create it so it works.

Because I'm sick of seeing this topic still here and going nowhere:
Your song files ought to be in that fourth one.
These are the only two files that you actually NEED to start a song, I suggest starting with a DWI and not an SM because it's quicker to start with and tends to have less problems.
This is ALL of the information needed for StepMania to recognize your sim. Begin step charting in the editor and once you have ANY steps saved it will show up in the actual song list in the game.
If after this AND 'Reload Songs/Courses' it still doesn't work, you sir, are fucked. May the gods of the intraweb have mercy on your soul.
