I have tried the manual method, as well as the stepmania tool method, but neither works. I have the music in .mp3, it was in a folder inside the music folder, but yet it still didn't work. HELP!!!!

ther has to be steps to a song to be able to play a song in stepmania.
also make sure you put the song in like this...
songs/1232321s music foler/the awesome song I love
Is there a .dwi or .sm in the folder? There needs to be.
I said I tried the manual method, meaning that I had made a .sm file in wordpad and filled out all of the info in the right way (number signs, colons, semicolons, everything). It does will not work.
I have tried both. I have tried with 3 different computers, one with windows2000, the other two with xp. I have tried different file types, i have tried taking my song and putting it in another working song's file and changing the notepad file to make it work. Nothing works
I told you, I tried the manual method. I already followed that tutorial exactly as it is written. I tried it 3 times over. The songs simply won't show up in the game.
Did you actually create steps to the song, or did you just follow the outline in the first post only (which does not include anything on how to make the steps)? The songs won't appear if there aren't any stepcharts in the simfile.

You really shouldn't be getting hostile to people who are trying to help man... imagine that...
and for the record... if all your try's are failing... try copying an already existing .sm and change the info (especially the song location part including the song extension part) which is what a lot of people forget to do...

uhhh.... I said i did that already.
And to the person who said i needed to make steps, it is hard to make steps to a song when the song wont show up in the editor.
