My stepmania isn't working. It shows a black screen upon start up.
I have stepmania 3.95 and for some reason every time I start it up it shows a black screen..I hear the music but no video.
It didn't happen with the old stepmania though. Can anyone help?
I had a similar problem when I had SM on full screen (which is default). If this is your problem, manually change it to windowed by going to your program folder, then Data, and open the StepMania.ini file and scroll to the very bottom. Make Windowed=1 and save.
If you mean like a pitch-black screen when starting up StepMania 3.9-5, I kinda have that. Basicly I just click on the Windows button of my keyboard (which minamizes StepMania), then click on the Stepmania tab on your desktop and it should show the video/gameplay with music....
someone said that you may have too many songs installed (more than 3000?), sorry I don't use 3.95.
An easier way to switch from full-screen to windowed mode is to press alt+enter.
Doing this sometimes "breaks" the window itself. I've gotten it stuck on fullscreen and having the buttons not working , and having to alt+tab out of it.
If I do it again, I'll usually get a D3D error of somesort.
