My xbox dance pad doesn't work properly

Hi guys I've just bought DDR universe 2 today and tried using its dance pad on my computer. Everything was fine except that I could not press "left" and "right" at the same time (it would result in pressing "down"), I tried all i could to fix this problem but none of them worked (the dancepad worked fine with the Xbox)

what is your computer's OS? Most of the time it's either that or stepmania doesn't support the controllers driver correctly.
