NEED HELP

ok.... ive been playing Stepmania for a long time well, i wanted to put some new songs on. well when downloading this song it wasnt the song it was its called Stepmania Tools and Package Exporter. i want to get rid of it.. so how do i do that? i think its fucking up all the songs i put on my stepmania. so help please...thanks

The Stepmania Tools and Package Exporter is what you use to extract/pack smzip files and modify themes. Don't delete it. If you download a song and it has that icon, just double-click and let it do what it does.

but the songs dont tho. i put them in my Song folder and they dont work. ive downloaded like 5 of them and none are working..

you need to extract the song from its compressed folder.

Its very hard to help you when you are not making much sense when you are posting...

Tell us where the file is in your stepmania folder, and what type of file it is...

i already extracted the songs and i put them in my "other" songs folder.
the file types are .dwi and .sm also there are ones that say .sm.old and .dwi.old which i dont understand what that means.

i wanted to put some ITG songs on here but i cant seem to find any, only a few.

You could just take out all of the stuff you want to keep on your stepmania (Songs, themes, characters, whatever else...) and put it in another folder and then uninstall stepmania, then reinstall. After that all you have to do is put all of your stuff back where it should go without the hassle of download.

...the stepmania setup stays on your computer after you install it right? Either way, you could just redownload that part if you have too. Better one file then however many you have.

Just an idea, since no seems to be able to help you and this would pretty much start it out fresh and new.

it just says a Zipped file...i extracted the zipped file and then i put it in my folder... i know how to do everything it just doesnt work for some reason. i think it has to do with that stepmania tools thing. songs worked before that got installed which i dont know how to uninstall... my ex bf did everything for me...
