Need help. Frame rate lags and won't go past 34 fps.

Well I just got a new laptop and i tried playing stepmania on it and it lags like hell. It will never go past 34 fps. I've tried putting it on the crappiest settings and i still only got a maximum of 34 fps.

On my desktop, which is 5 years old, stepmania would run at a solid 60 fps even with videos in the bg.

Here are the specs on my laptop:

Windows XP Service Pack 2
CPU: 1.86 ghz Intel Solo
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce Go 7300 (256 mb)
RAM: 1 gb

I've tried adjusting the settings on the graphics card and still got no good results. In the Read Me file of stepmania it says to turn off an option under my graphics card options and it might help speed up the frame rate; I did it, and it still stuck at the same frame rate. I'm completely lost.

Never mind I got it to work. Just set it to D3d mode. But now i'm having another problem. It seems as though the keyboard's timing is way off.

Change the global offset of stepmania, that'll take care of the lag problem

Not if the laptop thinks you're randomly mashing the keys you've assigned in StepMania, like my Toshiba Sonuvabitchalite does.

I also got the same problem here. Mine's SM 3.9 and SM 4.0 CVS. v3.9 lags like hell while the other one, 4.0, doesn't lag when in online mode IF it is in fullscreen, which is a bitch to sightread on C700!

What's your keyboard GUI set to? (If you don't know what that is, it controls the sensitivity of your keyboard)
