Need Help Please, Keyboard issues

Hello, I'm using an Dell Inspiron 1000 Notebook that only registers 3 keys at a time. I've used the Windows Update Driver Wizard and made sure I have the latest drivers for my laptop, Still only 3 keys at a time. If you play Stepmainia like I do, you can see my problem. Does anyone know how I might be able to change my keyboard settings (Windows XP s.2) or where to download an addon or driver to let me register more than 3 keys at once?

are we talking for index or spread play?

Not sure if step mania plays to well on lap tops I use a regular pc. Or if that is like a older model it might be the problem. If that is not it I'm not really sure what the problem is.

I play stepmania on my laptop and it only seems to register certain 3 keys: only left, down, right and up, down, right. My laptop is a Dell Inspirion 600m. I just changed the joypad configurations. Use either WASD or JIKL and see if that works.
