I believe it only supports .JPG and .PNG files for banners.

Meaning, no.

Yea, I read it in topic here before... must be like months ago.

- I still haven't tested it yet.

I just tried messing with a short song I have with video (I copied Trickie's Cámbiate al amarillo! BG vid, renamed it and used it as banner), so even MPG files work =)

Now, if SM supported Flash files.... *drools*

Yeh, I know, but it isn't the idea :P

It'd be nice that SM supported Flash files natively (I know, I'm dreaming... <.<)

Yes, I've seen people do it with this PIU Zero theme I had. Pretty neat!

I'm sure there are licensing fees SM would have to pay Macromedia (or is it Adobe now?) to support Flash in the program.

On another subject, doesn't SM let you make themes that rotate the song banner when it displays them? So would the avi files also be able to be rotated in a theme like that?

Hehe, tell that to the developers of free software like Media Player classic.

Haven't tried that myself... but a friend changed the banner "perspective" (like in ITG) in a theme we're working on, and it works pretty well. So, I guess that all effects applicable to image banners are also applicable to video banners.

after observing this feature, is there a way to control the speed of the AVI?

Probably not individual .avi files, but you might be able to control all of them at once with a theme metric.
