Default Problems with CF on Vista

Hello! I have been playing Stepmania on my old XP computer with my CF with no problems. Now I assembled a new computer build on 64-bit Vista, and now it does not work at all. I installed the drivers for the CF control box from my Xp computer to Vista, and they still don't work. Heck, I even tried using my PS2 adaptor to USB that worked on my Xp and it doesn't work on Vista, even though when I plug in a PS2 controller to the adaptor, it registers and WORKS! Are there drivers that I'm missing? I contacted Cobalt Flux, but they haven't responded in a while. Anyone?

Ugh, another Vista user? Speaking of Vista, why does every computer I see on ads always comes with Vista? It sucks for older programs big-time.
Anyways, 64-bit Vista? Good luck getting the controller to work here. I don't know if it would work on 32-bit Vista.

Apart from this, I made a demo version of a simfile called Fuel. Check this out!

Dang I guess that sucks hard balls for me; I really want to use my pad on Vista. Gosh darn that sucks. But why would my CF not work, while my normal PS2 controller will? Man, oh man, now I am forced to play it on my laptop once more. *Sigh*

Is installing Linux an option for 64-bit processors, or does Stepmania has issues on 64-bit Linux?

Also, if you have Vista and plan on ever working with edit files, install Stepmania to the root of C: or a desktop folder. Vista's security deathgrip on the Program Files directory screws up the way Stepmania saves edits (changes only get saved to the temporary cache, not the actual .sm/.dwi file).

your adapter box isn't fully USB HID Compliant. Vista isn't really the problem here. It may also be the huge voltage draw from it. Try disconnecting the pad from the control box and trying just the box.

I've been having a similar problem, with an iON. I thought it might be the power, as Katze mentioned, so I bought a powered USB hub. Works like a charm.
