record/score transfer

is there anyway to get the scores from Stepmania to another computer? does anyone know which files it is that holds the records of scores?

i dont think you can, but if there is a thumbs page that shows up in the song files then that might be it but you would have to transfer it first to verify that. hope it helps and works

For SM3.9, go into the SM directory, then go to Data/MachineProfile (for the songs played by all profiles), and also Data/LocalProfiles/#ofyourprofile (for the songs played by just one profile, if you want to carry that over). Stats.xml contains the song data and high scores of the songs you've played.

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is copy the Stats file into the same place on the other computer.

If the directory structure for the songs on both computers is the same (like Aoi Shoudou points to Songs/DDR EXTREME/AOI SHOUDOU on both computers, and so on for the rest of the songs you've played), then there shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

If the folder structure is different, then it won't load up the scores automatically; you'll have to go into stats.xml in a text-editor and manually change all the folder pointers to reflect their updated ones on the new system.

Personally, between my desktop and laptop, I just keep the structure the same and just copy the most recent stats.xml between the two computers.
