Regarding videos for simfiles.

I apologize if this is the wrong section to post this, but I'm having a bit of difficulty when placing a video into a song.

Of course, there's no problem with them, but my issue is if/when I release them out to the simfile section, who's honestly going to want to download a 100+ MB file for a music video? Is there any way to decrease the size without totally trashing the quality? [I tried Zamzar [lul], but that has a tendency to make blocky areas in the video after it's completely done.]

Try MediaCoder or VirtualDub. Those are good options and MediaCoder is now stable.

what is your pretended output format?
I recommend to use tmpgenc, or the mediacoder as CloudTK said...
easy to be learn and use. =]

try use divx or xvid encode @ 640x480 30fps 2800kbps

That would be about 40 MB right there...

~34 MB for ~2781 kbps assuming no sound. :\

At that size, I dunno if it's really worth it. You could kick it down a notch to about 1500 and still get about the same for almost half that. :\ I don't think most people are looking for absolutely stellar vids when they go to play SM and if they are then they aren't focusing on the steps more than they are the vid anyways.
