Default Running SM in window format.

I would like to know how to run SM in a window rather than having to play it in a fullscreen. I've looked around all over the place and can't seem to find out how. Any help would be appreciated. <--Lol.

Simply go:

Options -> Graphic Options -> Display Mode -> Windowed

There is also another way... If does not work or just 100% work.
Open the StepMania.ini or Preferences.ini

On StepMania 4
C:\Documents and Settings\~~\My Documents\StepMania CVS\Save\Preferences.ini

On Stepmania 3.9
C:\Program Files\StepMania\Data\StepMania.ini

Open it with Notepad

Once you open it find this code:
Code:
Windowed=0
if it 0 that means Off. And 1 is On
- Just like Binary Rule -

So then save whatever you change... Just don't mess with others, if you don't know.

Window format is best for widescreen comps.

4:3 is the ratio for SM. Widescreen in SM4 is still BAD.

Running widescreen on StepMania 4 is pretty meesed up.
The graphics does not fix into place as regular Ratios.

Well, that is in my old releases of SM4 (4-9-06)

Even though I have Monitor 19" Widescreen monitor (1440x900 32bit 60Hz)

Stick to original. ^.^ No problems as usual.

You can also press ALT+Enter if you're using Stepmania on Windows.

Good. Windowed is also good because when parents come running, Alt+F4 doesn't have a 200000000 second delay between when you press it and when SM closes.

Did you actually change the .ini file?

Yeah I changed the actual .ini file like Jubo said how to. Cause putting the window thing in properties didn't work.

I don't understand though. Didn't this

work? Why go through all the trouble to change the .ini?

I agree. It's more fun using a text document than getting your eyes overloaded with cyan (from the default theme).
