What does BSed mean? I have created one simfile but I can't post it because I don't have the WinZip software, I only have WinRar, is there any other way I can submit a simfile?

WinRar gives the option to zip a file as well as what ever the other option is (completely forget) Just choose to zip it rather then turn it into a RAR file. Then it'll let you upload the file.

Either bullshitted or Bachelor's in Science and Education. I'm thinking the former.

WinRAR is going to give you the option of saving your file in ZIP or RAR upon creation of the archive. Just choose the ZIP option, there shouldn't be a problem. I use WinRAR myself because it beats out WinZIP by a shitload.

Thank you ChibiValkyrie and Hiryuu for helping me. Now all I have to make some banner and a background when I'll know how to do them...

Is XStep still available for making step files. I used to use it way back in the day and recently got Stepmania on my new computer.

I really don't feel like trying to guess song BPMs and Offsets and X-Step did a great job of finding both those out and inputting all the metadata stuff (title, artist, etc.)

I use mix meister and round to the nearest .05. That's the bpm if it's a constant bpm song.

After that finding the gap is easy; place down the beat, lower the rate to 0.3x with assist tick on, find out how far off the beat is and adjust the gap by that much.

One problem I'm having with a custom simfile. It works fine and everything, but for some reason stepmania adds like 10 seconds of silence to the beginning of the song that isn't there normally. It syncs up right, but is there any way to start the song 10 seconds in or have stepmania not do that?

Default ~why

why is this so difficult to do...I don't know what I'm doing.

I created a "New text Document" I opened it I put this in this:

#TITLE:; Whataya want from me
#SUBTITLE:;
#ARTIST:; Adam Lambert
#TITLETRANSLIT:;
#SUBTITLETRANSLIT:;
#ARTISTTRANSLIT:;
#CREDIT:;
#BANNER:;
#BACKGROUND:;
#CDTITLE:;
#MUSIC:;
#MUSICBYTES:0;
#MUSICLENGTH:;
#OFFSET:;
#SAMPLESTART:;
#SAMPLELENGTH:;
#SELECTABLE:YES;
#BPMS:0.000=;
#STOPS:;
#BGCHANGES:;

Aferwards I dragged the song "Whataya want from me" from Itunes and I put it in the "New text Document".

Then I saved the file like this: ".sm".

I'm lost.

I just wanna be able to take songs to this ITG machine in Naperville...But I wanna use songs that are newer.

I apologize if this is a dead thread, but I need some help.
For some reason, when I try loading up Stepmania, my new simfile says it can't load because it says No #BPM detected or something like that. and I have changed it a few times.

The song is "No, Thank You!" by K-ON.

I wasn't sure what BPMs to put so I just put anything that was the closest to what I think would be good.

Sorry for late reply.

Surly it has nothing to do with the background not having an extension... does it?

Is it possible to create a step chart in real time with the song? Like as if I was playing like a normally would but I just make the steps as I go along.
