Marketplace Rating: 0 | Stepmania 4 player support Does anyone know if there is any plans to add 3-4 player mode support (as well as triple and quad modes) in 4.0 or any future version?
It's been around long enough, or in fact do any DDR simulators have 4P support?

I've played 1 Pad doubles with a friend and they were tiny iirc (Ultramix 2), but we were only playing on a normal TV (not widescreen). It's probably possible, but I don't have anything that can legitly work on the Program itself.

Maybe they could at least add the Party/Battle Mode games - Bomb, Sync, Attack (different from Dance Magic) and Point Battle...

Maybe they could at least add the Party/Battle Mode games - Bomb, Sync, Attack (different from Dance Magic) and Point Battle... | Adding new gameplay styles would push back the current development several months since it not only has to be coded but tested extensively before being released to the general public. And getting any closer to becoming a DDR clone again would probably prove to be a bad idea for them.

Slight and almost insignificant changes are all that is needed to make SM 3.95 work just as well, on top of 3.95 still having those really nice themes that work with it, and that is me making a jab at the fact that 4 doesn't seem to have any good themes for it at all.

GLITCH FEST EVERYONE!! | I don't think it's a total waste but I'm not playing it atm because the last time I tried it, the timing felt screwed up .... I dunno it just didn't seem the same as 3.95 with my old library.
Some songs didn't even work, try running "come horn" by flashbulb and see how that works in 4.0

Fact is that 4.0 is incompatable with most of the 3.95 stuffs whereas they could have just improved on the old programming, with the EXACT same improvements, and everything would have continued compatability.
In closing... 4.0 | |

In closing... 4.0 | hmmmm ok well xp sure was glitchy when it first came out.
I wouldn't say most, at least a fair amount of the music in my library still worked, but for themes it kind of sucks. It's nice that it supports widescreen resolutions and aspect ratios a little better than 3.95
Actually I would say they both have things that suck with them.
Here's a bug in 3.95 to get c800 without a custom mod.
Select 2x and play a map, even if you exit out of it shortly after those arrows start coming, then select C400. You will discover a glitch on the next map producing C400 * 2x.
Both games are just as glitchy.

Originally Posted by stealthc hmmmm ok well xp sure was glitchy when it first came out. | XP is still trash Pay attention enough to notice however that this isn't even a relevant comparison. Whereas all the things that worked with earlier windows (for the most part) work with XP (as far as XP will throw them, I prefer barebones), SM 3.95 = compatable!! SM 4.0 = what is this?
SM 3.95 = THEMES!! WORKING MODS!!
SM 4.0 = Sometimes songs don't even work.
Plus, this is completely aside the point when the fact is that all of the 'improvements' that 4.0 offers could have been simple tweaks and fixes or in the form of additions to a pre-existing, already working program. So my question becomes: Why did 4.0 have to be totally different rather than just an upgraded version of 3.95? We are wasting time by starting... basically from scratch to add improvements when we could have added them to something that already worked.
Hey guys, I found the perfect comparison:
StepMania 4.0 is like a cellphone that can take pictures, record audio and video, send e-mail, trade data, surf the internet, watch TV... but making and recieving calls is *drops call*... Quote:

By the way... that glitch... it's based on THEME glitches *sigh*. And yet it is still stupid not to just fix the old ones rather than create new ones...
