I wasn't sure because all the banners are still visible on other songs, just not new ones i create.

anything in the metrics =1 means on (=0 means no, =2 means alternate on). So yes, that's right. Have you tried reloading the songs/courses from the Options menu yet? (you can PM me or get me on IM if that doesn't work, it'd be much faster).

The max number of songs I can play is 7. How do I make it unlimited? Using Stepmania 3.9.

No idea if this has already been asked, but is there a way to change what sort categories you can get (in 3.9 still)? I want to be able to sort by Challenge meter.

Yes you can; it's controlled in the metrics.ini file for the theme. Do a search for Hard Meter and see the format that they use for the sorting; to add Challenge sorting, do the same as the others except use Challenge Meter as the criteria.

I had to add one thing in the Graphics folder under the theme (basically, I just copied the hard version), and it works perfectly now, thanks!

Right, I forgot to mention that mot themes I've come across don't include the graphic for the Challenge sort. Although, as you found, it's really easy to fix that one once you locate the sorting graphics for the theme.

It was the weirdest thing: a 6x18 rectangle of solid 147 gray. The ones for light and standard were the same, though a little smaller. I have no idea what it could mean.

Windows can't generate invisible backgrounds for preview; it's gotta be a program that lets you have invisible backgrounds enabled. If you open it with PhotoShop, it should be there with Hard clearly visible over tiled white/gray dots (invisible)

Hi. Two questions regarding Stepmania 3.95 CVS:

1) Is it possible to show the letter grade of the songs on the wheel? I know 3.9 does it, but 3.95 seems to have it disabled and I can't seem to figure out where it is being disabled.

2) Not really a tech problem, but since I'm in this thread anyway: is there any "big" differences between 3.9 and 3.95? I know 3.95 has the ability to read rolls and SMO, but anything else? Any bugs in 3.95 that can't be found in 3.9?

I have tried the stepmania tool, and the manual method through wordpad, but it won't show up in the game. My song is .mp3 format.

It has to have a blank DWI or SM file for it, then it can be editted.

hey everyone...kinda new here(i believe this would be my 1st post =P ) , good to see questions being asked and some of them answered...

i have a problem, it was mentioned before in this thread...
my problem is that when i sometimes play simsfile w/ video, the vid. would lag the game up(as in buttons not probably register/applyon the right time*i m a keyboard user*...) i asked some of the friendly user around here and i thought my problem was solved(since i somehow got it fixed)...but now it has come back and haunt me again... same issue...and this time my 'solution' didnt work =(

as mentioned before, removing the vid would solve the problem completely...but i really don't want to remove the vid.... its like removing the vid = removing a part of the soul...

so...are there known method(s) that could solve this problem? (ie. reducing bitrate[doubt it would work], upgrading version[tried from 3.9*don't know which version 3.9 thou* -> version4 cvs], use another vid. [looking for clip atm and try to replace it with a new one and see it will work], etc)

p.s. my previous experience/solution was to remove the animed banner...and then everything works fine...but the one i have problem now do not have an animed banner...and even if i removed the banner and BG-image, it would still lag =(

p.s.2 can someone possibly teaches me how to reduces the bitrate of a movie-file if it would solve the problem/lag less? (assuming that it is in .avi format) ...; and how to remove the audio from an existing vid. file?(plz pm me if u can help me but feel inappropritae to reply in this thread)

I got a new comp with vista on it, installed 3.95 CVS. and some songs to test if it works, it works but its on the 'coin/game' mode as in I can only play the game (by hitting F1) but I cant get into the menu / options screen to change anything (it just starts a new game when I hit enter if credits are present or nothing if I dont).

Anything I can change in the data / theme metrics to change this?
