Marketplace Rating: 2 | Stepmania On TV? hi, recently i just got a new plasma screen in my room and i would really like to play stepmania on it. I have been searching for a cord but i havent had any luck.
If anybody can help, i would need something VGA out because thats all i have on my PC and it can go into pretty much anything. VGA, HDTV, HDMI, S-Video, Red-Yellow-White, it doesnt matter to me.
I need atleast a 10 foot cable for it to reach from my computer to my TV, and i really cant move anything, since there is no place to move it. anybody who can send a link, it would be greatly apreciated. Also i would be using my PC speakers, not the TV for sound.

Plug one end in your PC and the other into your TV. For audio I use the Y-adapter. It's shaped like a Y and it has your audio plug-in's (red and white). Plug the red and white ends into your audio reciever in your TV and plug the other end into your headphone jack of your PC. I got these cables from Sears but you can find them at almost any electronic store. Hope this helps!

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I need VGA-->TV Video, my computer doesn't have S-Video. Any cables like that? And also, is the EXACT real name of it Y-cable? I don't want to look retarded talking to the employees. If I get a laptop (one of my unlikely-to-get wants) I will make sure it has S-Video

When I went to Sears to get it they knew what I was talking about so you have nothing to worry about there.

Most new video cards you buy will ahve some kind of video out for TV.
If you don't, I think Apple makes one for it's laptops. It's a bit expencive though.
Most modern laptops come with S-Video or Composite video out. For sound the "Y" cord is the best way to go unless you have some high up card with composite out already...
EDIT: I've done this many times before. I have a thread with pics. I should probably write a tutoreal,

there are a lot of options. They all cost way too much, and will introduce some amount of lag. I'd invest in a new video card personally

First off i was looking at my set up in my room and i see that my computer monitor and my computer are hooked through vga. i was wondering if there is a double sided vga cord i can find anywhere, and just use the tv as my monitor.
- to the guy who said use smx. i have it, i dont like it, it runs horribly, its very glitchy, getting songs onto it through ftp is a pain cause of renaiming. its not worth it.
again, i would just like to thank everybody for the suggestions.

The impression I get is that your TV has a VGA input, which is what your computer supports. However, you want to display to both the TV and computer at the same time, thus the request for a "double sided vga cord".
I think what you're actually asking for is what is commonly referred to as a splitter. You can find those in many places, including Cables to Go: http://search.cablestogo.com/?qu=vga%20splitter
I hope this helps, and don't hesitate to ask for any more help if you need it.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | So there is no such cable that just has VGA comp plugin on one side, and the yellow plug-in on the other? Bummer. Well, if I must get a new video card, where on the computer is it located, inside?

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Any video lag should be irrelevant. Normally people go by listening to the song to figure out exactly when to step, rather than the position of the arrow. Even if it is a teeny bit laggy, which I doubt anyway, it wouldn't be anywhere near the point or being a whole eighth beat off, or something like that, which would be the only way I see to cause any sort of confusion.
Basically, If you're good enough that any lag would make a difference in your performance, it wouldn't matter anyway, since you'd be using the sound of the beat to guide your steps.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Well, I will probably get a new video card with S-Video out anyway, since it is like half the cost of a VGA to TV adapter. Can anyone recommend a good card, one that doesn't lag noticeably?
