This is the problem. The brand of converters that they use (forgot the name, i used to have one) map everything to axises instead of directions I believe, so the won't work in two directions at once.

Try looking online for other brands like the EMS USB 2, i think places like PlayAsia have them in stock.

Thing is that you can always download USB drivers to make it so that they are configurable. Though THIS is always a better option.

The problem with that brand is that they don't have any updated drivers and I have never gotten a pad to work correctly.

OP: In all honesty, its probably cheaper just to get the printer port adapter if you have a printer port.

Some USB adaptors require a code to enable dance pad mode like the one I use. For mine I have to hold START+SELECT+UP for 3 seconds to activate it. Try doing that and see if it fixes the problem.

It won't work for a Radio Shack adapter. Radio Shack adapters weren't made for the dance pads period They don't have a dance pad code like most do.

Brand = irrelevant. There are nice generic drivers for this out there and it IS possible, but seriously - just like most USB options, very much not worth the effort.

Well since I started using the Parallel Port Adapter, I've had no use for that driver so I got rid of it, not sure what it's called now. Googling this would take some patience... I'd say it isn't worth it honestly, I was just pointing out that there are always ways around problems, SUCH AS:

Don't have a good video card? Have a processor that can do a lot more than is needed? Write an emulative driver! An emulative driver is a complex DLL file that fools detection of say... a video card, affirms that one does exist when it doesn't, and redirects abilities from other hardware to compensate. It's a complex file to write but works wonders when you only need that slight tip away from RAM to video memory, if you can tell it how to use the resource correctly. It's the same type of thing that emulators do, they mimic hardware with data, it's quite intriguing.

Why's that? Don't you have a printer port?
