Default What muscles are you supposed to use for Stepmania?

One thing that keeps bugging me is wondering which muscles you should use when playing Stepmania. Should you plant you wrists firming on a table and not let them move? Should you use more of your fingers, your wrists, or forearms? Any help appreciated.

I usually plant my wrist when playing easy songs, but for long fast streams, i pick my wrist up, it lets me move my fingers around quicker. I always have my elbows planted on my arm rest too
but thats just me, i also just play with my two index fingers on my key pad (2,4,6,8), and throw in a couple others when you have hands.
so i dont use my wrist, because i lock my arm up for fast streams, that would leave my forearms and fingers, and biceps i guess because im flexing my arm to keep it locked.

its all in the way you play, everyone plays differently, other set ups work better for other people.
