Wait until the arrows go into the stationery arrows at the top and then you press them

check the dimensions of the video, if it's OVERSIZED, it tends to lag.

Thanks for takewalker for his Habibi simfile to make me notice it.

Also, it happens if the video is huge and not in the 4:3 aspect ratio

Maybe your pad lags. Try adjusting the GlobalOffset if you think so.

Maybe I can help since I most likely made this simfile. Akira is absolutely correct when he mentioned that oversized videos can make the arrows lag. I've noticed this firsthand when playing other simfiles that contained videos. If you downloaded my version of the SSBM simfile I can assure you that the video is not oversized. I used the 320 x 240 dimension size which is the standard size for videos.

I encoded the video using the DivX codec so one suggestion that I can offer is that you make sure you have the DivX codec installed on your computer for proper playback. Also MdX MaxX brought up a good suggestion on the timing lag so you can also try to change the global offset. To do this you first have to open up the StepMania program folder. Find the "Data" folder and then open the "StepMania.ini" file. You can change the global offset there.

Other than what I just said that's all that I can possibly think of to help you out. I hope this somewhat answers your question.

First of all thank you for your help and i will try to get DIVx codec and also thank you for the SSBM simfile but there is also a question that maybe you could answer. I checked the global offset and it says 0.000000. Is that supposed to be like that in order for it to stop lagging?

Well, GlobalOffsetSeconds is set by default to 0.
You have to change it to a value at which you feel you're on beat.

It can be any value.
The offset is set (as you can guess) in SECONDS, so if you set it to 5000, therorically the arrows would appear 1 hour, 23 minutes and 20 seconds later.
