i haven't seen anyone ever post this before, so.

has there ever been a workout mode for SM, will there ever been, is anyone working on one.

i play workout mode most of the time on my ps2 but it'd be cool if there was one for SM, it'd really help me out. i play for fun -and- to get a bit more fit.

well in my case i really would be doing the songs, i hook up my CF via usb.
even a rough estimate would be nice since i know it would be difficult to get it spot on and an average wouldn't be that effective at times. i'd settle for an under-estimation just so i know i've done XXX ammount of calories at the very -least- and possibly more

So, when StepMania4.0 is done (which is like next year? my prediction). I'm guess it would be implemented with graphics and statistical screen and all.
-Though, don't trust me on this, since I'm not developer or admin or even mod of StepMania Devs team. Just a fanboy

ATM, there is no screen or any option to view on gameplay(when playing on stepmania)... just text on the Stats.xml file.
-Well, from my August 31st Build... I don't think there is one on the recent ones... (March 25th)

In 3.9:

Data\LocalProfiles\<your profile>\Editable.ini

In the line WeightPounds=, imput your weight. Then, SM will calculate your calories burnt and show them in Stats.xml

That's about as close as you're getting; but as far as the entire workout mode itself goes, you'll just have to fork it and point the scoring to the calorie count.

actually if you get the right ITG theme and put it in SM4, it should have a fitness mode. I dont have a link but i know there is one (ive got it )

for some reason though, i burn about 1/3 more calories on pad than i do keyboard, and i dont mean on different songs/difficulties either. Maybe my pad just like to do lightning fast double steps very often...

Are you talking about songs DESINGED for pad on SM? Or actual DDR Mixes...

both!

i have a fitness course which ive played on both foot and keyboard many many times. On keyboard it says i loose about 500/550 kcals and on foot its between 800 and 850. My beefy, 'kill every drop of energy course' does the same thing, except its 1400kcals(ish) on kb and about 2000 on pad.

on an individual song (so deep) kb- bout 30, pad- 40+

im not sure if its repeat connections on my pad or if SM's adding another 0 on my keyboard kcal killing rating. I'd guess that it's my pad though.

Who knrew you burned so many calories by using a keyboard.

Well instead of exercising, I will just play stepmania now .
