Since this is already on the board somewhere else, you can read it to make sure i'm not just being a general jerk: http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/announcement.php?f=93
That out of the way I've made some appendages to it:
~Do NOT make a new thread to request a specific simfile. We've said this over and over again, if you want an original simfile, either check the Simulation database or go here: Original Usermade Simfile Requests
or if your wanting DDR or ITG officials go here: Official DDR/ITG Simfile Requests
if you do what everyone else has been doing from here out, the thread will be locked, the user will be infractioned, and the entire thread itself is going right into the garbage can, no questions asked. (this saves alot of moderators some headaches)
~READ THE OTHER THREADS TO MAKE SURE YOUR QUESTION WASN'T ALREADY ANSWERED!!! I've seen alot of topics pop up about something that was fully covered in another topic, especially a question that's covered in a bloody sticky. The thread will most likely be locked and the user will be warned, if it happens on a continual basis you'll get an infraction.
~Flaming: Lately there's been flaming in the accomplishment threads, if it happens in either the keyboard or pad accomplishment threads your post will be deleted and you'll recieve a flaming infraction. Simple as that, just be nice and if you don't think something someone did is right either talk to them in PM or bloody ignore it, it's not like we're forcing your face onto the screen and making you look at it.
~If your posting about a songpack or a project, that does NOT go here. Those go here: http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=98
If anything else seems unclear, please PM me if you have any questions before posting. Following this will make the moderators and the other users lives a heck of alot easier.

btw this thing should be bumped daily to the top of the Stickies so they'll be more obvious. It might help a bit.

Also: as of NOW is token whoring and will get you an infraction.

What happened when you did that?
Did they say no? Or "we're working on it?"

I'm sure level 500s are no problem for you, right?
:P
Also, about time this was posted. :P

Or does he have the money to give certain admins daily bribes?
OR is it just that that rule is gone?

Being able to promote my sims would be nice too.

#1 - Good sim makers will get noticed more often.
#2 - Bad sim makers will get judged more often.
Wouldn't both of those things raise the bar at least a little? Something tells me that when you are good at this and you are complimented, or even get neutral feedback, then you are more likely to work on new things. And if you suck, then you'll get bad comments/ratings on a general basis and either quit filling these servers with trash (oh my GOD) or start figuring out how to make good sims.

Let me check if it hasn't already been requested in the Feature Requests forum quickly...
Edit: It hasn't. Maybe I'll request that it be added.
The only problem is that a lot of people won't really CARE to look at EVERY SINGLE SIMFILE THREAD. So even then, most simfiles might not get so much attention. I tried making threads at DDR:UK to request comments, and no one really replied.

Something along the lines of if you have 5 or 10 downloads that you have not left feedback on, then you are locked and can't download anymore until you bring yourself out of the queue.
Maybe leave the simfile creator a downloader list (basically I'd like to know who has all seen my face on my Numb/Encore sim :P). The only problem with this is that it may lead to spamming, harassment, but that would also lead to weeding out the annoying jackasses that would do something like that.
Seriously though, there needs to be something to keep people from just making a profile and constantly leeching sims while leaving absolutely no compensation of any kind. Even bad ratings help us improve the future. I'm sure that there are probably plenty of very good simfile writers here, or at least lots of particular sims that are really good... but that just leaves us downloading FOREVER trying to find them since no one ever leaves warnings for future users.
Basically, if this needs to be posted somewhere else in order to make it have a chance of being a viable change in the future then let me know. Because leeching is lame, even TORRENTS won't let you leech peacefully, leeching (setting your upload speed low or off) KILLS your download speed.

As someone who goes through simfile pages with the express purpose of looking for trolls and idiots, I personally believe that forcing people to comment would not work. Mainly, the people who leech sims are the ones who would just post "LOL UR SIM SUX" or "HAY DOOD NICE SIM" or some other equally uninformative, asinine comment that would just satisfy the comment quota so they can continue downloading. I agree that people who create simfiles should at least be able to see who is downloading them.
Anyway, TheFlyingSquirrel has a point. This post really belongs in Feature Requests.

But my current response has to do with the above quote. Here's the thing, people need to start reporting dumbass comments, yet another thing that needs to be considered an infraction that can lead towards banning, it's yet another form of information clutter that just fills the server with useless shit. Look, if someone is honestly at a loss of words and can't think of what to say, it is usually at least somewhat noticeable... just like it is almost always totally obvious THAT SUM1 PT NO EFURT N IT AT ALL ROFLOL. It's something that you would unfortunately have to count on your site members to actually be a part of. High hopes?
