Beatmania on PSP

I was bored and was googling around and found this JzBMS player. the screenshots look pretty nice, but i haven't tried it on my psp yet. It even has a happysky theme.

I think the only problem is that playing 7 keys would be weird.

The other problem is that you have to have 1.5 firmware to run it. Well, not really a problem, but it was for me. I tried downgrading and bricked.

Yes DJMAX would make sense to bring up in this context but a nice BMS player for PSP would always be nice... Assuming you're sure of the fact that you're not going to brick your PSP in doing so.

Got it working perfectly. This is REALLY awesome. Dont understand the controlling yet, but Clione works beautifully. Cant wait to add more.

Do vids work on it at all? Or does it at least come with some kind of background animation of some sort?

Background animation. Its cheap but its there alright. Havent tried videos, but I have them off anyways.

The BG is more like a visual for the music. Its kinda nice to see it pulsate to the music. The only problem is that the max size for your song has to be less than 21 mb.

It does play official songs, as long as the file size is 22 mb or less. It works well, for 5 button songs, 7 buttons songs are confusing. But you can use the 5 key modifier.

Very nice indeed... one other problem that no one will probably think of until it comes.

At least the way DJ Max's controles are, there's no way you will hit the 1 and 3 key at the same time and it'll be really hard to hit the sQUARE and O keys at the same time unless RIGHT is also SQUARE. I don't think any of the DJ MAX note charts on PSP have that where a BMS might.

Yah that is a problem, I'm looking at you A even with 5k. DjMax's noet charts were made specifically for the PSP version. The combinations of chords has to fit the control scheme. But 5 button on DjMax works really well. Both Square and right serves as the center note. But some combinations won't work well. Like keys 1,3, and 5.

I tried playing some songs and i cant even pass a regular 7 anymore... i guess ill still stick with DJmax

If you made all your BMS's into 5k PSP charts THEN put them on the PSP and moved all the TT notes to normal ones, then you'd be good, but then that'd take a while....
Although, if some of us got together and did it to a set of songs, we could put them up as BMS's for the PSP version of beatmania. It'd only be 5k, but that shouldn't be too big of a deal.
