Beatmania sims in Vista

I've been wanting to get back into Beatmania simulation, so yesterday I decided to start over. However, I went through 3 simulators and all had problems that I've never experienced on XP:

1. Rhythm it
This was my favorite sim. back in the day, so I went to it first. Sadly, everything went smooth with the exception being that the notes fall in a strange manner, ala the break mod in DDR/ITG, and I know it isn't something that's supposed to happen.

2. SSRMAX
Ok, so I've never had success with this(even on XP) but the only issue I have is mapping keys. I read on how to use F2, F3, etc, but it just does not agree with me.

3. BMDX
My last resort, but this one is missing a .dll file.

I'm really hoping someone can help me with Rhythm It! as I love 5-key and have had the best experience with this sim. I know it isn't supported anymore, but I'd appreciate it if someone knew how to fix it.

i can't say personally whether or not it works in vista, but it's being actively developed, and looks great with the right theme/skin. you should check out surge's w-i-p DJT theme.

the default hallway guitar hero style theme can be made 2d, to look more like a regular iidx theme.
