I have never posted before, but you guys have really helped me out, just through searching this forum, thanks everyone.

I wish there was a simulator that didn't suck... seeing as how sherl0k has spent so much time making perfect simfiles for every song. I've tried every simulator listed and they either don't work at all or are so utterly crappy they are unplayable. It makes me sad that DDR can get a pretty much perfect similator (stepmania) but IIDX seems to lack an equivilent in sim quality.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a perfect "DDR" simulator, "IIDX" simulator or any other simulator out there. Simulators are simulators and they try to replicate the real deal. One example of not being perfect is the scoring system.

Have you tried Lunatic Rave? It's hard to run the simulator, but once you get it running, you'll be digging it for sometime.

I realize that simulators will have their quirks and inaccuracies and everything. But still.. What I ment was that out of any rhythm game simulation that I have tried, I consider stepmania to be a step above in quality. And some of these IIDX sims are just.. ridiculous in comparison.
I tried Lunatic Rave, and I would see the initial splash screen and then it would just crash. Any idea what this could be? I wasn't sure how to begin troubleshooting.
I haven't given up on IIDX simulation yet but, it's pretty trying to find a decent setup. Any help would be very much appreciated.

-Reload all your music you have in your directory list. See if you have any directories at all.
-Make sure your computer has the Japanese Fonts and is set in Japanese Region.
-Check if you have the newest version of Lunatic Rave.
-Look at skin tab in the config program of LR and see if you check mark all three un-checked boxes


There is an alternative to LR: endless music. Modified Lunatic Rave packed with songs with it and has the capability to send scores to its own IR server.

Checking the three things in the skins tab worked! I'm not sure why that isn't suggested at the very beginning in the LR thread. I was blown away, it is a really nice quality simulator. Seems like the timing is perfectly synced too (huge plus). Now if I could just figure out how to get some background music..

Just one of the many problems I'm having w/ Vista.....I miss XP!!!

I'm having trouble finding an IIDX sim for Vista.

1. An RAR isn't registering

2. I've tried pretty much every SSR MAX ver. I could find

Outphase.com is down and I don't know if it'll be back up any time soon.

I've tried contacting Matt but he doesn't respond (he's always away/idle)... so I'm hoping that page somehow managed to be archived.

So for now, stay put Bemanistyle users as I try to see what we can do for the link on the first post.

Hey Magnus, have you tried Endless Music? That simulator works very nicely. A bit confusing sometines but it looks col and the themes are very well done... It's just sad that most of the really high quality looking IIDX stuff is in Japanese.

Yes, I don't know what the big hype about Lunatic Rave is (not trying to start a flame war here) but there is No Way to run it in a "High Quality" Resolution(SSRmax can run higher than 640x480 :-P).. That's why i love SSRMAX ! :-)

Do the previous Lunatic Rave skins work on the current one?

There is a good skin creator from outphase (liquidus) who work on a Djtroopers theme for Lunatic Rave 2. I don't know if it is completly finished but still it is a good one. Just search on outphase or maybe in the bemanistyle's theme section.

No. I looked the LR2 skin theming and it's pretty close of the LR1 skin theming. So it should be not so hard to convert them...only time consuming .

Hahaaa.... Making my own theme. Sounds like a lot of work so I guess I'll wait for skins to come out.
