Default BMS BMP Changes with Notepad

I usually use BMS Creator to create my sims. If I need to make changes that I am unable to do with BMSC I use notepad. With BMSC it seems that when you want to change the BPM speed, it can't go any higher than 255bpm. I have downloaded official BMS files from IIDX Frontier and for songs like PARANOiA survivor MAX and MAX300, there are speed changes that go well over 255bpm. Is there a way to work in BMP speeds of any speed using Notepad?

Get BMSE, which can do BPM changes beyond 255.

Umm you need to be more descriptive than "it's not working." What's not working?

Yes, BMSE is able to do all the speed change for you. BMS Creator cannot handle the tags correctly, and you will not be able to see how it is done within BMS Creator. If you want to do it only with Notepad, I can explain a bit but hope you understand the BMS file format though.

In a nutshell, use the 08 tag for speed change above 255bpm and not the 03 tag. You need to specify the BPM using the #BPM[xx] tag, using decimal is okay there. Then in put the note(for the speed change) in the measure you need using #[yyy]08:...xx....

I unzipped it, tried opening it, and it says "Run time error '339': Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or is invalid."

I think GDA Creator can also create such tempo changes, and export to BMS.

If you want a version of GDA Creator that's partially translated into English, you can get it from GDAmania (register to enter the Downloads section).

If you find that it says "MSCOMCTL.OCX is Missing" just google the file and put it in your windows\system32 directory
