Default BMS questions

Hi,

I looked through some of the BMS tutorials online and I think I have a decent idea of how to use BMSE, but I have a couple questions.

1) Is it possible to see a live demonstration of your progress with the music? I have uBMplay but it's only showing me the notes, not the song.

2) Is there a specific guide for keysounding an mp3 file? I'm fine with making normal BMS notecharts for now but I'd like to try a keysounded one if it isn't too complicated.

1- uBMSplay should play sound just fine, what version are you using? you can press 9 on your keyboard to show settings, then make sure KEY&BGM is selected in the autoplay area.

2- What do you mean by "keysounding an mp3 file", do you want to add sounds to the mp3 to play on top of the original song? or do you want to seperate the sounds in the mp3 file into different files?
If it's the first, then chances are you will ruin the song, if it's the second then it's nearly impossible to split whole songs into there components.

Unless you're a music composer yourself then the best you can do is try to edit an already finished keysound BMS.

Thanks for the response.

I'm using "BMx Sequence Editor 1.3.8" with "uBMplay 1.4.6". I went through the options for uBMplay and double-checked that it's set to Key&BGM, but I'm still not hearing any sound. The sound only works when I click on the song from within the BMS editor.

Are the sound files in the same folder as the saved version of the BMS file? I think if the BMS file isn't saved the editor assumes they're in the same folder the editor is in.

Yeah, the sound file is in the same folder as the .bms. I tried using a .mp3 and a .wav, but neither is working.
