Default Which Controller For PC

Hey all! I have just recently become interested in IIDX, and have downloaded Be-Pachi, and it works the best out of any IIDX simulator I have ever used.

I am interested in buying an IIDX controller, but I am curious which one would be the best for use on the PC. Since I am an old DDR player, I have some PS/PS2 to USB adapters. One is a SmartJoy Plus, the other one is duo plus (I cant remember the exact name, sorry. Its from lik-sang, but since they are closed now I can't look it up on their site. Its blue, has an input for ps/ps2, and gamecube).

It's not the controller really that matters, you're likely going to be able to get a KOC working as well as a DAO or Desktop Arcade controller, but it's the lag from the converter you might worry about. You might not have noticed it playing DDR with its looser timing, but it's quite noticiable with IIDX timings. And that's just no good. The only way I know of to prevent that is overspeeding the USB ports. Try doing that at about 250-500hZ frequency and most lag will be gone. I'm pretty sure the SmartJoy will work correctly, I know it works with dancepads. As long as you can set up your IIDX simulator's controls, I don't see much of a problem there.
Also, I've found that LCD monitors lag like HDTV LCDs do with the consoles, so that might be unavoidable if you have a flat panel.

Hope you like IIDX, and possibly give the CS games a try someday

But it's hard to play original songs without using a simulator, and there are many good non-bemani songs out there
