Default Fixing Converter Lag / Increasing the USB Rate

So I got myself a PS2 to USB adaptor and installed it fine on my computer, but it does have some noticable lag issues with bmDX and SSRMAX, and I've heard that a workaround for fixing the lag would be to increasing the polling rate of the device. Only problem is, I don't know how to do this. Any of you out there know how to?

It did, however, help me. A lot. The controller works flawlessly now without any lag. Period.

Much thanks, BlueSS!

What adapter are you using? Some like the EMS USB ones are just plain screwed when it comes to IIDX action.

On the lower quality motherboards the USB ports will merely not work at 1000 Hz. The best way to check what the motherboard does and doesn't work at is by going up step by step to 250 hz, 500 hz, and 1000 hz. I should note though that I am still yet to see a US KOC work above 250 Hz, whereas the JP KOCs work at the full 1000 hz. (Which is nothing short of awesome.)

Many places recommend not going over 500, so if 250 or 500 didn't work, 1000 probably won't do anything either.

I'm lucky enough to have one of the "legendary" Boom PS Joy adapters.

I've never heard of those adapters. How good are they?

Nothing short of awesome.

Works perfectly even with the infamous Cobalt Flux.

Oh btw they stopped making them long ago and it's tough to find one now.

It's cases like this that the best stuff is always the hardest to get! The Radio Shack are a close second as the only issue I have is the lack of a real dance mode so I (along with one of my friends) cheated by making a cable that would route the arrows to other buttons so we could play Stepmania and ITG!
