Marketplace Rating: 0 | Hmm...I'm dusting off my old IIDX (US) controller and plugging it into my PS2->USB adapter...and it doesn't seem to work. =(
It works fine with PS2 and PS1 controllers, and even used to work for my old DDR mat. But now none of the button-presses are detected...
Is this a common problem that there's a quickfix for?

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Ok so I finally got the SBJ Pro 3... and it works ok.... but the only thing is that for Be-Pachi, I have to put the offset to -14 or so for it to give me decent grades... Should I have to set it to that? My USB polling rate is 512. Should I set it back to normal?
I don't get why it's still lagging a bit. What, does it just hate me or something. It's almost like the converter I got from walmart I think. I'll test that one next.
I'll try some other simulators but I don't think it's Be-Pachi...I'm using a US IIDX controller.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | first post hey all,
i just recently got into iidx because of a friend of mine (dj gordo). i'm not really any good, but i freakin love this game. i played it on my friend's ps2 (he's got it modded to play the imports) and a couple weeks ago i was privileged enough to play GOLD an arcade in mesa, AZ.
anyway, i'm using my friend's US KOC, bought a super joy box 3 pro from play-asia, and i'm playing DJ TROOPERS on my home PC (the details of which are not important.. i don't know if you guys frown on that kinda stuff).
i took a video of me playing the other day because of how excited i was about the playability. i don't really notice any lag when playing the game, but it is possible that i'm just mentally compensating for the lag and pressing the keys at the right time. here's the video, tell me what you guys think.
warning: my skill level is about light 7, level 4 (can do some 5's). Viddler.com - IIDX DJ TROOPERS with KOC test - Uploaded by ronji
edit: i removed the link to this video from another post i made the other day after being warned in PM that i would be castrated... but this post had to approved by someone before it would show up, so i'm going to leave it in for now. please let me know if i should remove the link, or if you're someone of power and think it should be removed, please feel free to do so yourself.
in other news, i hooked this up to the big screen TV in my living room last night and found some interesting results. connected via a DVI to HDMI cable, everything looked lag free and played well, but the screen was overscanned and i couldn't fix it, so part of the turntables were off either side of the TV, and some of the top and bottom edges of the screen respectively. i then tried to connect via S-Video cable directly from my graphics card, and it looked FANTASTIC, but there was definitely noticable lag that made it unplayable. it was about 12:45am by then so i had to call it quits, but i'm gonna test more tonight.
note: i have not changed any polling settings or anything like that, just using the drivers that came with the adapter. both DJT and lunatic rave are able to accept the inputs from the controller without any kind of joytokey thing, too.

Hit me up on aim if you need help though.

you are right. you get an error about usbport.sys. what i did was found a post somewhere (when you search google for polling rate increase you almost always find it linked on some FPS gaming forum/site) where a guy linked a download to his usbport.sys. i renamed my usbport.sys file to usbport.sys.old (in case i needed to revert back to it) and saved his version in the same place. now the polling rate tool works. mouse is smoother, controller is sooo much better.
even at 250MHz it was way more playable, noticably so. i upped it to 500MHz just in case. it's a US KOC, and it might not be performing above 250, but i don't think there's a way to really tell unless you have super robot ears/eyes to accurately measure the lag difference between 4ms and 2ms. i'm gonna swap controllers with my friend for his JP KOC to see if i like it any better. he prefers the US KOC anyway, for some reason.

also, all my previous talk about playing on the TV was in regards to lunatic rave... yep, sure was.

On the emus and stuff, I get B's and A's like I'm supposed to. On the other thing I think it's more of a refresh rate issue.
