Default Help mapping buttons...

I don't know if this is the right section, but since I play o2mania with BMS files, I guess it is.

Anyway, I'm trying to configure my controller using joy2key, but I have a problem:

The far-right white key on my controller doesn't show up as a button when I check to see which one it is.
It shows up in that point-of-view hat and has an arrow pointing left, and when I used joy2key, I selected left, but it doesn't work. :|

Is there a way to change it to a button?

If there isn't, I"ll never be able to play 7k with my with my BM controller then.

First thing I would do is open up Game Controller by going through Control Panel and see if you're assigning the right controller buttons to the right keys on your keyboard.

If that doesn't help, try a different controller mapping program like ControlMK. It's the same thing as joy2key, only they assign/map buttons differently. Here's what I mean:

Scratch Right- Y Axis + (or Up)...
Other than that, common sense suggest that you check your USB adapter, your USB plug, plugging your USB adapter to another port, open up your controller to see what's the problem, etc.

Thanks a lot for helping.

The program you posted works perfectly. Now I can finally play with my controller!

I got the other controller ap and it still won't work for me. I should've known something like that would happen. I don't know why it's doing this. I know the button's not shorted out. Well of course it's not because the computer register's it, but it won't work in Joy2Key or ControlMK. If I opened it, I'd have no idea what to do either.

Hm, is anyone else still having this problem? I'll try a different controller and see what happens.

I was going to make this an edit, but there's too much new stuff to say so I'll just make a new post.

-bump-

Well I figured out why the 4th white key does not work in J2K. This is simply because their "left" is actually -x axis when the button on the IIDX controller is refurring to the LEFT button on the D-pad... Sadly, J2K doesn't seem to have THAT set of directional buttons. Only the anolog ones.

Fortunatly, ControleMK does have this. They're called Hat Switches. So just set it to Hat Switch LEFT.... unfortunatly for me... ALL the buttons work perfectly but AS SOON as you enter actual gameplay, nothing works and that PISSES ME OFF TO NO END!!! It even works on the menues and EVERYTHING! But as soon as you start a song in (IIDXsim/DJ MAX/O2Jam/whatever) NO BUTTONS WORK AT ALL and I have no clue why. I have the GameOn converter. That shouldn't be the problem though as everything works fine in J2K... BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT HAS NO BUTTONS FOR D-PAD!!!!

Just thinking about it is making me even more angry. Does anyone have any clue why this is happening? Thanks.

EDIT: I got this thing called Xpadder which seems to work fine... Only one thing... The timing is kind of odd. Is there a way to fix this? LIke in fixing controller properties or something? Thanks. It's like lag or something. Not very big at all, but still, you can kind of fell it when you play.
