Default How do you get SSRMAX working?

I downloaded SSRMAX and unzipped it. I go into the folder and there are 3 exe files. I click on the one that says SSRMAX.exe and a window pops up with a bunch of options and crap that I don't know what they do. When I click on the other two exe files, a window pops up for a milisecond and then it says "SSRMAX3DX.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." and blah blah. What's wrong with it (or me)?

Okay, I did make a cache with one folder I had, and it was fine. But now when I click on either SSRMAX3DXforSSE2.exe or SSRMAX3DX.exe, the title screen pops up for a second, then it says the same encounter a problem message. Help?

SSRMAX can be sort of unpredicatable sometimes...what I mean is that one day it will work perfectly and other days it won't, regardless of what you do or don't do (based on past experience). Sometimes it will lag all of your songs out of nowhere and then recover to normal status. As for you though, maybe this may help:

If you cached songs that have Japanese in its title, sometimes it will crash because you don't have the neccessary font to go with it. You have to go change the information in the folder (using notepad or something)

Make sure the compatability is set to Windows 98 (I think). To do that, right click the .exe file, go to properties, compatability tab, check the box and choose Windows 98 (again...I think)

Maybe something is wrong with the BMS file/song you cached, you could try another one to see if it works (make sure you delete the first one from the folder registration thing though ).

Videos don't like to work most of the time, so make sure there aren't any videos in the BMS unless you know thats not the reason. I think AVI's are fine though.

If all else fails, delete your SSRMAX folder and start over by re-extracting SSRMAX. This has worked for me a bunch of times.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, clearing out the cache and/or checking the display settings should help you out. It'll basically crash if you try running it in an unsupported resolution and refresh rate.

I've had this problem before. This is a common bug. Deleting SSRMAX and installing Be-Pachi should fix it
