Default Be-Pachi Music!! My continued attempt at a BMS Player / BM simulator

As the topic title says, Be-Pachi Music is a BMS Player I made in Delphi 7. It supports BMS and BME files, and supports both 5-key and 7-key single-player songs, through the use of an option on the Start-Up Config window (System>BMS File Type).

Be-Pachi Music will most likely be an eternal 'Work in Progress', and I'll keep trying to update this on a regular basis.

BPM is now version 0.0641, and even though plenty of new things have been added, all themes from the v0.05x versions are fully compatible with this newest version. But, since I want to show the new things that have been added, I'd recommend re-downloading it (Just choose to copy over an existing Be-Pachi Music installation to update the necessary files).

Don't worry, it's still not a big file

Here is the program + both newest themes (2D+3D Themes):
http://x-raise.cjb.net/bpm_dl/bpm_v0.0641.rar - 3.41 MB
http://x-raise.cjb.net/bpm_dl/bpm_v0.0641.zip - 5.68 MB

And here's some thread links to some other BPM themes. In case of updates, these links lead to the authors' threads, where they have the latest versions avaiable for download. (To install the themes, choose to extract to BPM's 'Themes' folder, then select the theme using BPMConfig):

IIDX 13 DistorteD theme (created by shinnohara)
http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/f90/bepachimusic-theme-iidx13-distorted-wip-19720/

IIDX 15 DJ TROOPERS theme (created by Surge)
http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/f90/bepachi-theme-dj-troopers-26229/

The source code can be downloaded from the main Be-Pachi Music webpage here:
http://x-raise.cjb.net/bpm.html

Here's some screen shots of the newest version (v0.06):

Enjoy, and as always, I welcome any/all feedback about this

Screenshot of current version in first post, please?

Also, this sim cant find my BMS files. I have them all in the BPM folder inside a /BMS/ folder, like: G:\Games\Be-Pachi Music Complete v0.0365a\BMS\beatmaniaIIDX 12th Style HAPPY SKY\Xepher\Xepher [ANOTHER].bme

Why wont it load...

I'll add in some new images from the current version (and next version) tomorrow

And, is the MusicFolder entry in the BPM_CFG.TXT file pointing to that folder? By default, it points to 'Songs' folder (unless I made a mistake in the current version!)

For now, that setting can only be modified by editing the config file. Maybe try setting the line to this...

MusicFolder=.\BMS

Also, a better interface to select folders is something I'll definitely add to the next version.

I could try implementing something like that

What is it about BMSE that's difficult (Other than having to re-load the entire song just to preview it, which is a pain)?

Reloading the entire song just to preview it.

And that I want to be able to start where I want to listen to the music if it's a solid mp3.

When you say you "support BMS/BME", exactly what do you support?

I don't know if there's a difference between BMS and BME, other than the extensions. (Most likely there are plenty differences that I'm un-aware of!)

There, 'BMS' refers to 5-key songs, and 'BME' refers to 7-key songs.

The 2 file type suffixes seem to be used interchangeably for 7-key songs.

Ah.

BMS defines certain core functionality (it can even be used for DDR songs, for example). BME adds some tweaks to basically make 7-key support possible. (I put up a summary of the basics a while ago at http://sacredchao.net/~arashi/bme.txt a year or two ago.) There are tons of "extensions" of the BMS format that various Japanese players have made over the years, though, that I've just started learning about tonight; there are almost 60 commands that can occur in the header, and something like 80 useful play channels defined. There's even long note support for EZ2DJ-like charts, but it looks like only one player I've never heard of supports it.

BMS is pain :3 But it's cool to see people actively working on sims.

I rigged up a nice new little installer for the current BPM version using NSIS (which also powers the Stepmania Installer, coincidentally)

http://rapidshare.de/files/25600170/...Setup.exe.html

It's a start in the right direction...

I like the interface of that installer

Thanks for making that!

If it's okay with you, can I put that link in the first post of this topic?

Of course, that's what I intended it for! It even emulates the behavior of the Stepmania installer (not removing the Songs folder)

Also, think maybe you could donate me some tokens and rep for that I did? You do seem pleased and all...

You can host it on your server if you want.

While I do thank you for creating that, you do know I only have 200 tokens, right?

However...

The board's pro-vision theme is buggy, so I switched to a different one and gave rep.

Edit... I won't ever spend them I think, so if you really want the tokens, I'll give them to you.

Never mind about tokens...but I did however rework the UI of this installer so it will look ALOT better...believe me it's stunning what I did!

Changelog:
- BRAND NEW INSTALL UI!
- Nothing else
