Default Playing with keyboard harder?

Heya I was just wondering, is playing with a keyboard harder than playing with an actual IIDX controller? Or do I just suck an excessive amount XD?

Seeing as most songs were designed with a KOC in mind I'd say things will be a tad different feeling to say the least. :P

I personally, don't mind playing with the keyboard sometimes but I always prefer a nice controller.

Edit: Well, I just passed Silvia Drive [7k] on keyboard so I may not be the best person to respond to this thread... XD

Hmm... I suck. I have so much trouble with the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 type sequences... I can get 2-4-6 or 1-3-5-7 ones though ;\ Going up one key and then back down is so awkward, I'd have to assume it'd be easier on a controller since the keys are larger.

Hopefully I'll get my ps2 modded so I can import the games though, then I'll buy a controller. I've heard there is massive lag when you get the controllers hooked up to the computer with psx to usb converter things =\ so its putting me off buying them!

ANYWAYS sorry for rambling on. I'm very tired, hope this post makes sense ><

In other words, you have troubles with scales just like me and many others. It's no big deal... just practice.

And there are converters with no lag and ways to decrease lag while using sub-par ones but it's all up to you.

agreed, the only bad thing about using KB for me is that the keys are too small and causes misses (i have fat fingers)

I was about to say thats one of the main reasons why its harder. I can only fit like 3-4 fingers in that smaller ZSXDCFV area, where I have more area on a IIDX controller.

Doing scaled on a keyboard does suck. Majorly. Haha

And what also sucks are the certain combination of keyboard keys that can't be pressed simultaneously during gameplay, or rather any time.

the trick i found with the keyboard is , when playing multiple keys (>2) always kinda roll your fingers over it, you won't get p.great for all keys but you'll hit them all. Oh and is scratching easier on the keyboard or on the turntable?

I say turntable. Just because my comp wants to start sticky keys all the time and won't let me turn it off for some reason.

go to control panel and in keyboards you can turn off the notification and alert for sticky keys - guess i should save faster for a controller and usb adapter soon

I started playing with a keyboard and I think it is ahrder. Sure, you don't have annoying scratch but you have 7 keys as small as your fingers. The reduced space makes playing scales really hard and you can't move your fingers to adapt the notecharts. it's IMHO easier on a KOC
