Pop'n mini con V1 with BPM

So I just got my mini con in, and I noticed there is some annoying way the controller is made where it has the "down" button constantly pressed. I've tried multiple things to do that would make this work, but so far nothing is working for me. Any tips?

Edit: I'm using a PS2/USB adapter. It's just a generic Ebay adapter, but it works pretty damn well with my IIDX KOC

It should have left, down, and right being pressed at the same time so that the PS2 versions automatically recognize it as a Pop'n controller.

If it's causing problems in the simulator, set the controls using a normal PS2 controller and this post.

well from the looks of it, the down/left buttons are being held down. I guess some more tinkering with it may help.
