I first tried copying and pasting the KeyConfig.ini file from Outphase's walkthrough guide page, fired up SSRMax and tried pressing some keys, but nothing happened. It ended up not reading any of my keyboard's input as well as the controller's. Next, I tried using Joy2Key and mapping all of my keys to that of the controller's, but nothing happened either when I fired up the program. Finally, I tried configuring the keys in-game in the configuration menu, but nothing happened after saving it.
The adapter works fine, and is reading the controller properly, but I still can't figure out my problem. It could be that I am using Joy2Key incorrectly, or I'm not doing something right. Either way, any help on getting my controller to work properly in SSRMax is much appreciated -- I've been wanting to play this for a long while. :P
Other information: Windows XP SP2, running SSRMax at Windows 2000 compatibility mode.

try using bmdx, it may not be as fancy, but you can config you controller into it from the start. and it has less bugs, so it rarely messes up.

Sorry for causing ruckus, you can lock this now if you want.
Also, I find that this PS2 adapter is pretty nice. It's not the classic $7 that Radio Shack is well known for, but this one does its job pretty well for $5 more. Response time is decent for having not yet increased the refresh rate. Overall, I like this adapter.

I find it rather annoying when I encounter a stream of turntable notes in succession, only to find out that I miss every other one because my turntable isn't finished "turning" and just hangs. Is there any way to change it so the turntable doesn't hang everytime I use it? I am using a US controller. Thanks for your help, everyone.

Then go into Joy2Key, find which axis it's using, and then set the key for <0 and >0 (or <1 and >1, again depending on which axis you're using)

Total Tokens: 155,012.33 Donate Tokens | The up and down axis directions map to the turntable spins (in respective directions). So I mapped UP and DOWN to the turntable spins, but the problem's still there. The turntable still hangs whenever I spin it (either up or down), causing me to miss the next consecutive turntable note because the game thinks the turntable is still "spinning," when really it isn't. I find this to be rather annoying at this point.

I might try a turntable mod later on this week and see if that helps, besides let me have an easier time pinky scratching. Quote:

It would only accept controllers that the original directpad pro interface would accept normally.
Probably not driver issues, but timings cannot be adjusted, so heh...w/e.
Keys the controllers map to:
TT CW-Up
TT CCW-Down
Start-9
Select-10
-7-5-8-
2-3-4-Left
Sorry I forgot the #->PSX order ATM.
These #s equate to DPP NTPAD and PSXPAD. Probably most other adapters as well, but I cannot promise that it will definitely work.
