Default SSRMAX Problems.

So, I finnaly got a good PS2 to USB converter and I went to play SSR and I'm having very strange problems.

I fire up the program and I'm without sound and once I got the controller programmed (by pressing F2 to swich buttions when I press them and pressing F3 to save and esc to leave.) I go to play and keys 1-4 act as up and down on the song wheel, 5 changes difficulity, and 6 & 7 dont do anything. In short, I can't pick songs.

I have the complete DB song pack installed and thats it. I tried reinstalling SSR and recaching the songs but it didn't work. Also, if I go to cache using the stand along program that comes with SSR it crashes.

I'm at a loss... I finnaly have a way of playing SSR and it all goes to hell -_-

Help? Please & thanks much.

You should download Joy2key, find out what buttons are which and assign them to whatever corresponding keyboard button will be used on SSRMAX.

It's probably easier to just do that because when i got my PS2>USB converter and tried doing that "F2 assign button through SSRMAX way" the program would just go nuts on me, and this way the program will see it as you playing on a regular keyboard but you wont be

if you've got joy2key up and going, be sure your usb and controller are plugged into eachother and the comp.

Click on start>control panel>printer or other hardware (or something like that)>game controllers.

once in there there should be something saying like "psx gamepad" or whatever, highlight it, click properties and in there press random buttons and a corresponding number should light up with each button being pressed. In your Joy2key menu there should be a list of buttons (left, right, up down, button 1, 2, etc) when you find out which buttons are which right click on the button in joy2key that you want to configure, and use the corresponding keyboard key.

hope that helps, or you can use Magnet Genocide's Ini file which should have the buttons configured and ready to go lol goodluck

I have absolutely no clue how it happend but everything is working properly... all my keys are doing what they're ment to and all...

One problem though, some of my files are playing strange. Like, when you hit a key it'll make the right sound and all but the sound it made cuts off short when the next sound is made... Everything sounds all choppy and bad... are my files to blame or are there other reasons?

I say they are bad sims. Try reloading all of them again.
