Default SSRMAX in Windows

Forgive me for not knowing, I'm pretty new to the IIDX simulation thing

but...

Does SSRMAX still not work with Windows XP SP2? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Same problem for me Even with compatibility on 98/ME. After setting the compatibility, I can get halfway through making the cache before it crashes.

*sigh* Where did you download the simulator from? And which SSRMAX are you using, English, or Japanese? If you're getting the simulator from OutPhase sim walkthrough, the English is missing the SSR folder and some folders inside of it; this crashes the cache to crash. The Japanese SSRMAX have that folder, just copy it over to the English.

I'll just upload the folders you need since I have 56K... It would take eons for me to upload the whole SSRMAX.

EDIT: Nevermind. I can't .zip empty folders.. -.-;; So I'll just tell you what folders you need to make.

SSR: FOLDER, MAP, MUSIC, SORT
SORT: ALPHABET, FOLDER, LEVEL

So yeah, the first four go into SSR. And then the three go into SORT inside of SSR if you didn't understand.

No no. The guide doesn't tell you anything about the missing SSR folders. It won't work on my computer without it, and I'm guessing the program can't make those folders when they are caching them, that's what making SSR crash, I'm pretty sure.

Those are probably songs with bad Japanese or something. You can retype the Japanese and correct the problem. Either that, or you haven't installed the language packs yet onto your XP.

Yes i can get avi/mpg to play perfectly on SSRMAX. Here's an example

#PLAYER 1
#GENRE PSYCHEDELIC TECHNO
#TITLE spiral galaxy
#ARTIST D.J.SETUP
#BPM 153.94
#PLAYLEVEL 8
#RANK 3
#STAGEFILE
#VIDEOFILE 8031-spiralgalaxy.avi

and it works.
