Default Timing problems with LR2

i KNOW im hitting the keys right on beat (been playing stepmania 4-5 years now, i know im hitting on beat), but it seams that i always have to hit it just a bit early to get a perfect. ive tried messing with the judgement timing in the options. ive done the auto judge (even on silent) and it autoset it to -14 for me, but it still doesnt seem right. i put it to like -99 (the maximum), and i still have to hit the keys just a bit early to get a perfect, though it is a BIT better. i even tried like +30, +99, and that just makes it worse lolz (have to hit it WAY early).

is there a way to give me more than -99 judge timing, for example -130, if i go any further than -99, it just goes to +99. or do i just suck really bad at this game an i dont know it.

There's nothing wrong with the default timings in LR2 , it just takes some getting used to if you're not familiar with playing beatmania. I was pretty frustrated too when I first played, kept getting way too many misses and goods.

I would set it at around 30, then auto adjust till it feels right, then turn off auto adjust.

Are you sure it's not just controller lag?
