Default Vista, simulating question

I use Vista and had a question.

I want to buy a JPKOC (since my IIDASC doesn't register with Vista, go figure) because I've heard they work well with adapters and converting and what not.

Say I DL Lunatic Rave (or use that flash simulator that I've been using for a while now). With Vista, will it work?

I have 2 routes - PPT or a random USB converter.

Can someone give me some solid direction on how to get this done? I'm more worried about getting the controller to work right (and which controller to use).

Suggestions and comments are more than welcome. Thanks all!

I have Lunatic Rave 2 and I use the JPKOC just fine. I couldn't get Lunatic Rave 1 to work due to error on DirectX. The health bar is extremely strict in LR2 than on the PS2 version. Depends on which kind of convertor your using because I heard some can lag.

Assuming that you have a Printer Port, it's rare to find that type of adapters. Typically you have to make custom adapters, which may require you to pry open your iidx controller. However, I heard there's an advantage to having a ppt adapter: barely any noticeable lag. On the other hand, USB adapters is much easier to find and there's quite a bit of them out there. Example would be RadioShacks PS2 to USB or Pelican's PS2 to PS3/USB. One drawback I find with USBs are the lag. But you're planning to buy a JPKOC, so there's no worries since you can jack up the poll rating from 125 to 1000.

EditeD: Oh, I forgot to mention Super Joy Box USB Adapters. Many say that this has no lag.

Just so you know, I use a US KOC with a cheapy PS2 to USB converter with Lunatic Rave 2 (which is funmazing) and it works fine. And I use Vista (which I enjoy). So, yes, it should work (but since you're getting a J one, I'm not 100% sure)

I have a driver for ps2 to pc but I'm not sure how to host it or get it around, and you probably already have one.

All you have to do: Install driver, go to control panel, then game controllers, make sure it works, then start LR2 and it will automap. Might have to f with the LR2 setup options to get it to read controller, not sure since all my options are question marks. After that you just play.
