This thread is the ultimate location for good links to good simfiles, besides our own simfile database of course! Yes, you can upload non-DDR simfiles. Bemanistyle 6.0 only had a few dozen in it's entire lifetime but you can upload your own original files there. So first things first, go there and select 'BMS/IIDX' from the dropdown menu!
There are no links to keysounded simfiles from the official Beatmania series here. You might find official notecharts without any audio included. It is my opinion that if you're going to play a fan-made implementation of Beatmania then you might as well be enjoying some of the better fan-made songs, too. (I also think that the people who request an entire game's worth of official keysounded simfiles are just trying to find a sneaky way to avoid buying the game.)
If you have a link to contribute, a dead link to report, or a comment about my comments then post it in a reply. I'll keep the first post up to date so that no one has to read the entire thread if they don't want to. (And you won't be expected to!)
Collections of Original Simfiles and Simfile Contests Outphase IIDX:TE http://www.outphase.com /
http://iidxte.outphase.com
Originally thought up as DDRei's IIDX Tournamix, and finally organized and ran by BLueSS, who also runs the DDR Original Step Contests (OSC) here on BMS. This was the first IIDX simfile tournament for English audiences and is still the only English tournament. Entries include both Keysounded and Non-Keysounded files and are highly recommended. The tournament is hosted at the IIDX simulation community Outphase.com which is home to BMS sim help as well as a simfile tracker. The competitions are open to anyone, and new users are encouraged to enter.
Diverse System Presents [db] http://www.diverse.jp/dbhtml/index.html
Who recognizes the name Diverse? They've got 30 BMS files: 20 in one pack and 10 in another. They offer a 96MB direct link for all 30 songs.
Re-Minisce http://www.re-3.com/event/report_1.html
A BMS creation event. The results are here but the links to the simfiles themselves seem to be not working. If no one else has any success with this link then I'll remove it.
BMS of Fighters 2005 - and other tournaments.
http://manbow.nothing.sh/event/event...t_def&event=23
Another BMS creation event. I enjoyed listening to most of these songs but some of the downloads can be hard to find since they're all hosted individually by each author. I chased most of them down and I thought that the quality was pretty average. Musically, great. Chart-wise... no instant favorites. Some of the entrant's lniks were already dead links by the time I found them.
Other events hosted by them are on the main page as well. http://manbow.nothing.sh/event/event.cgi Original Simfile Authors Yamajet's Website http://www.yamajet.com/music/index.html
5 stars ***** RECOMMENDED!
This link takes you to the main page where you can find links to other BMS related websites. (The ones you want to visit I'll copy here as well, of course, but Yamajet might add new ones that I haven't seen yet.) The first link in Japanese will take you to Yamajet's BMS/MP3 page. Make sure you go there!
Site Onoken http://www107.sakura.ne.jp/~onoken/htmls/bms.html
5 stars ***** RECOMMENDED!
One of the most famous BMS file authors. His works are quality. (period)
///Psycho-Function//////// http://homepage1.nifty.com/paraoka/index38.html
5 stars ***** RECOMMENDED!
This is Paraoka's website. I highly recommend all of his BMS files, especially Frozen Bond, Abandoned Cyber, and Witchcraft. His simfiles include Light 7 notes and are great for not being very difficult. If you have a hard time playing on your keyboard or if you're new and you want to start with simple notecharts then download every file here! They're mostly small downloads, too, considering that they're fully keysounded.

This guy looks like a general IIDX nut and his original simfiles are very good. Background animations (BGAs) are provided as optional downloads for some of the songs as well.
Link To YOU http://kobe.cool.ne.jp/linker/bms.html
4 stars **** Recommended!
This link takes you directly to the BMS page without any frames. The simfiles here are excellent and reasonable in size. They're all fully keysounded and BGAs are included for some songs. The exe files are safe to download. If you have any doubts about downloading strange executables, I don't blame you, just use WinRAR or something equivilent to unpack the files. (Otherwise the files are self-extracting.) I think this particular author underrates the difficulty of his simfiles but they're not insane, either.
Cool & Create BMS http://cool-create.cc/bms/index.html
3 stars *** GREAT!
These original BMS files are each on their own separate page with a long description for each - in Japanese. So if you just want to snag the files, click on each song title, then click on the very obvious download link. (Thank you for putting that much in English!)
Siromaru's Website http://www.siromaru.com/bms/
3 stars *** GREAT!
A few good original and arranged BMS files here. (Arranged means that the song isn't orignal, but the notechart is. For example, all the classic NES music.) The Murmur Twins remix is pretty good! (OMG! MT REMIX! GO GET!)
SHOCK & MOEC Records http://www16.big.or.jp/~shockc/bms/music2.htm
A good number of orignal and arranged simfiles. However, the .rar files keep wanting to open as binary in my browser window because of how their GCI script works. I need to work around that and download their stuff. I can't give these guys a rating because I haven't downloaded their songs yet.
Rave SLave http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~cranky/
3 stars *** GREAT!
This is Cranky's psychedelic website. Prepare yourself for lots of flashing colors. Cranky is famous for having made some really good simfiles but he hasn't updated his website since 2003, and apparently he hasn't made any new songs since then either. Don't overlook his 5-key stuff if you're a 7-key player! Even though he's famous I gave him 3 stars because the newer 4s and 5s that I already mentioned just make more and better simfiles.
Blue Generation II http://www.music.ne.jp/~u-sk
2 stars ** good
Only a few simfiles and most of them belong to Cranky. I'm not sure who's website this is but they appear to be updating often. Otherwise I wouldn't even bother listing it here.
Official Notecharts Music Game Zone http://www.m-g-z.com/showdown_tp.asp...=32&bt=Bemania
4 stars **** Recommended!
An imageboard-style upload system with unsorted official and unoffical songs. Most BMS files have the hyper notecharts and the mp3 only. It's pretty random what you'll find here but usually you'll see a whole group of files from one source grouped together.
iyix.5u.com (untitled)
http://iyix.5u.com/index.html
3 stars *** GREAT!
A no-nonsense website with nothing but direct download links to zip files containing only notecharts for the official games. The author doesn't even even provide their or contact info! But, files are files. Ever wonder what some of the IIDX 1st style notecharts looked like?
BMS Frontier http://www.geocities.com/_2220/bms/
3 stars *** GREAT!
A large collection of official simfiles with no audio at all. This is perfect if you want just the notecharts. For a Geocities site they have surprisingly good, reliable download links.
FightGames.5u.com http://www.fightgames.5u.com/BMS.html
2 stars ** good
Just another website containing direct download links for official notecharts only. Hasn't been updated since 8th style, but there are some BM III notecharts here.
BMS News The BMS Journal http://www.bmsjournal.info/
An excellent website that contains links to simulators and simfiles. They also have a starter pack section (which this thread is modeled after!) If you're not satisfied with this thread or if you want even more new stuff, just go here!
