Default Will the JPKOC work FOR SURE?

So I have my USKOC and the super joybox and it works for the most part... but there's still a LITTLE bit of lag. Not too bad when you're playing songs with not too many notes, but you can really feel it when playing harder songs.... I know there's lag, but I don't know if it's this much. It actually happens on my joybox and my game-on one.

Now my question is if I get a JPKOC, will that still be there or will it improve? I heard a lot about the USKOC's circuitry not being as good so that's why it may lag just a bit. If I spend 40+ on a JPKOC, I'd like to know that it will work.

I can try that polling rate thing for this one that and see if I get a change, but yeah. Thanks in advance.

i think the polling rate thingy should adjust it enough. I dunno if its affected by the adapter, but my USKOC works fine with a radioshack one.

Yes it will because you can set refresh rate to like 1000Hz which is insane almost lagless with USKOC you can only set it up to 250Hz SO YES!

Can't that possibly hurt your USB ports though for any kind of controller?

Uh.... I'll try the hertz thing first.

I can't find a radio shack one....

And you say that you can ... wait....

When you say it works perfectly, is it timing like you get when playing on the PS2? (or even better than that)

if you haven't sprung for the JP KOC just yet, i can try and test to see if i notice anything. i have the super joy box 3 pro and (at my low skill level) i don't seem to notice any lag when playing on a US KOC, but i have not tried the JP KOC yet, it's just a matter of getting it from my friend's house. also, i have not done any kind of polling rate changes or anything. i just installed the driver from the floppy (HAHA) that came with it, changed directions to buttons in the windows controller utility, and bam it works.

I suggest the radio shack one. If you need one, Pm me and I can probably mail you one. But 1000MHZ could very well destroy the usbs. Mine hasn't but it can. I use 500 On Gold. and it is great havent noticed any lag but ya JPKOC worx better by a long shot.

If you change the polling rate to 1000Hz and do a cardboard (and possibly a turntable) mod, a JKOC will definitely work better than a USKOC. At 1000Hz, there is virtually no lag.

It won't damage your USB ports; it'll just consume more power and battery life if you're on a laptop.

btw, i used the polling rate tool and increased it to 250MHz and it was noticably WAY better. i upped it to 500 after that, even though i'm using the US KOC, and i'm not sure if it took it or not, but even so, the playability is great. try the polling rate tool to see if it makes your US KOC playable enough for you.

if you're running xp sp2 or 3, you may get an error about usbport.sys. just do a search for that error and you'll find someone linking to a download of their working usbport.sys. i don't have time to look for it now, but that's what i had to do to get mine working. also, you don't need to be in safe mode to use the tool.

Thanks for all the help.

Odd thing happened. I just hooked it up and got no lag on Be-Pachi. Well there may have been a little, but I KNOW it was VERY close to the PS2version. I don't know how, I can just feel it when I play. I use a lot of MIDI controles for audio production so I'm familure with latancy issues and stuff. I don't think I"ll need a JPKOC. I'll try the polling rate thing though and see if I can improve it. Thanks.

i am extremely confident that the polling rate increase will help you. (i've got some midi controllers too, which you might be able to see in the video i posted in the other thread, heh)
