Warning: long thread
Okay, since Sanae-chan provided a whole guide on setting up Feeling Pomu
here, I noticed that alot of people seem to have problems when they start playing it more than setting it up. So I made a little guide from a year or so of playing it. Just make note that I don't know everything about it, I don't have Japanese encoding on my computer, and that I'm not the main developer.
Loading Screen
Okay, this is the first screen that appears after you start the program. This is the loading screen for the game and your BMS files. If you program crashes suddenly after this appears for a second, you must make sure that you actually have BMS files to play. Some keysounded and non-keysounded BMS files were provided
here. Create a new folder in the Feeling Pomu folder called "BMS files" and store them there. Once you got your files, then the program won't crash and you can move on.
Skin Select Screen
EDIT: Alright, now I figured this screen out after looking at the skin folder. It's to select your skin. In the beginning, it has two default skins, which I haven't taken a good look at to see differences. Sanae-chan released the beta version of the FEVER skin, so make sure to look at the topic provided in the links at the end of this post. ^^
Controller Select Screen
If you pick one of the two options in the previous screen, sometimes this screen appears. From what I see, it looks like an option screen for what your using to play. In other words, it asks if your using a Pop'n ASC, Dualshock, keyboard, or anything other. This may not be right and it may be for something else, but usually picking the first option leads you to the main menu anyways.
Main Menu
Alright, here's the main menu of the game. The first option leads you to the mode select screen to start playing the game. The second leads you to the option menu where you can add your modifiers like Hi-Speed and such. The third and fourth I'm not quite sure does. The fifth leads you back to the version select screen and the last lets you exit the program. However, simply pressing Escape on you keybaord at this menu lets you exit the program as well.
Mode Select
The menu where you select your characters, key settings, and playing mode. The menu on the left is your mode selection.(Normal, Excite, Free, ect.) The menu on the right is where you select your characters. I deleted mine at the moment, but some of you might have a few. The menu on the bottom right is the play style. It lets you chose between 9 key(Single), 5 key(Easy), and 18 key(double). Once you finish selecting, you will be lead to the music selection screen.
To navigate through this screen:
Mode Select: right and left arrows
Character Select: up and down arrows
Play Style: Shift Button
Music Select
Pretty much straightfoward, where you select your music. ^^
Option Menu(before song):
When the black screen with the genre, song title, and artist appears, you can simply press "R" on your keyboard to access the player options and mods instead of going to the main screen at the beginning.
Gameplay:
Your song is starting, but not so sure what the keys are? Here(hyphens were used to separate keys in Pop'n controller layout):
9 key
s-d-f-g
z-x-c-v-b
5 key
z-x-c-v-b
18 key
s-d-f-g
z-x-c-v-b
j-k-l-;
n-m-,-.-/
Okay that's all I can say to help.
On a side note, Sanae-chan is making a FEVER and CARNIVAL skin for Feeling Pomu as well as some characters. Please be patient with that. She posted a video of her playing
Grunge-Des[ex] s-random , high speed x4 with her new skin.
