why is popn simulation so dead

Anyway, popn sims are hard to find, and keysounds even harder. Then, to find a working sim that plays well is even harder.

Stepmania is easy to find, and there are websites (such as this) devoted to people posting steps and stuff.

Beatmania sims are kind of hard to find and get into, but there are a large amount of both sims and simfiles if you can look in the right places.

In other words, pop'n simulation isn't popular, because 1) its largely not supported, 2) it isn't very easy to find and 3) I imagine as someone said it would be hard to get into on a regular keyboard.

anything compared to the DDR sim scene is pretty dead. I'm hoping that will change with stepmania 4.0, with full keysound support and PIU style freezes.

Once we get keysounded goodness in SM, i hope the community steps up and makes simfiles for every music game in existance. especially taiko and keyboardmania

Oh, and to "people with an ASC wouldn't be playing sims," what about for older songs that you don't have access to at home and songs that haven't hit a CS game yet?

It's impossible to map the keys so that they register multiple key chords. Unless you use keys all over your keyboard... even then, I doubt it.
