Alright, finally a sticky with all the Simulators
(Note: Most of the sims mentioned here are hosted at GDAMania.net, which requires registration before downloading.)

DRUMMANIA/GUITAR FREAKS
(There are many lesser sims, but only the ones worth mentioning will be in the list)

DTXMania
[Homepage] [Download]
The most commonly used simulator for DM/GF.
Supports both GDA and DTX files.
DTX files allow animation/background videos.
Allows grouping of song charts (bsc, adv, ext) to be grouped together using set.def files.

BandJam [Download]
An older sim, with larger Guitar display.
Does not support DTX files.

SessionStream [Homepage + Download]
Another sim that isn't used too much anymore.

DigiBand - Open Source.

DMX
[Homepage + Download]
Another sim that has been making lots of progress. Made by BillOB.
Worth trying out.


KEYBOARDMANIA
DoReMi Mania [Homepage + Download]
The only main and good KeyboardMania sim. There is no need for any other.
You can put hook up Midi keyboards to it also.

i didn't know anything about DMX player...
is this player as good as DTXMania? is it able to play video too?

Check DMX's site.
It supports MPEG videos, but no guitar yet (it's being worked on).

anyway have you try Digiband? is that as good as DTX?

DMX is more polished, but I haven't played with DigiBand for a while.

for DoReMi Mania is there a site that is actually readable wear i can DL from? the site there fo r me diplayes utter crap as its minly a bunch of question marks and if the site is in japanise cuse i dont have that language file instaled is there one in english? i ca see were to DL the pm song files but no idea wear to get the main game. any help here? i belive im not the only one.

ok now i have 1 other problem i found teh Dl and got it runong but i cant figure out how to use my KM controler with windows XP so that i can play. it registers nothing in game and on my old 98 i had to nothing. any ideas?

Your official KM controller? I believe it doesn't work with XP.

in DTXMania... how can I play something else than drums? :S
I mean.. i have songs with notecharts for guitar... but it alway sdisplays it on the right side (auto play) .. i can only play the drums =(
what do i have to do to play the notes for the guitar?
